It snowed!!!!
Finally..... it snowed in Chattanooga. We don't seem to get it very often any more, but this was a good one. Three inches or so in just 3 hours. It was really coming down. We got out and played and Chris and Caroline took a sled run on the golf course. It was great!
Smiley Catherine!
Catherine seems to smile all the time. She is such a happy baby! She has started lifting her arms and legs at the same time and making swimming motions like she is trying to propel herslf across the floor. Much to her disamy, she is not mobile yet (unless she rolls where she wants to go). But, she is definitely getting closer to crawling by the day. She has been talking more too. Lots of ba-ba's, duh-duh's and some tah's.
Stickers and Towers
Two of Caroline's favorite activities right now are building towers and putting stickers on her face. She has gotten really good at building tall towers by herself, which is impressive given the dexterity and control that is required. The stickers were completely her idea. A few days ago, I had Catherine on the changing table, and I turned around and she had put stickers on he face-- one on each eyelid, one on her nose, and one over her mouth. Pretty hilarious! She has done it a few times since then and we were able to capture this on on camera.

New Year's in Destin
We spent the week of New Year's in Destin. It was a fun trip. Catherine's first time to stay at our house in Sandestin. She slept in the Pack n Play in our closet. It was pretty cold for most of the trip with temps dipping down in the upper 20's and 30's and high of 40's and 50's. Not really beach weather, but we did go over to G.G.'s beachhouse to visit Grammie and Bryan and ventutered out onto the sand in our coats and hats. We also went over to the playground at Baytowne a few times (see pictures below).

More Illlness
Catherine has croup. It started with a stuffy nose and then turned into a runny nose and cough and then the cough turned into the "barking" sound that is the hallmark of croup. I took her to the doctor pretty much expecting the diagnosis, and that's what it was. So, we got a steroid injection at the office to help with the swelling of the vocal cords that causes the barking cough and sometimes breathing difficulties. Thankfully, she has not shown any signs of breathing problems and the steroids have stopped the barking. She is still not feeling well, with a very stuffy nose and cough, and she is not sleeping well either.
Despite the illnesses, she is growing like a weed. At a week shy of 8 months, she weighs 19 lbs. 3 oz. and is 28.5 inches long. So, she has grown an inch and gained around 2.5 lbs in 2 months. It must be all those bananas that she scarfs down!

Christmas 2009
Pictures from Christmas morning. Santa obliged the request for candy canes by hanging them on her tricycle handlebars.
